Charles Jock Named to The Bowerman Watch List, Derrick Returns to Elite Ten
NEW ORLEANS – UC Irvine’s Charles Jock was added to The Bowerman Watch List and Stanford’s Chris Derrick rejoined the group of ten the award’s men’s watch list committee announced on Wednesday. Jock won an incredible race over rival Ryan Martin (UC Santa Barbara) in the 800 meters at the Big West Championships last weekend in an American- and collegiate-leading time of 1:44.75. NEW ORLEANS -- With just three days remaining of the regular season in NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field, the top three men's and women's teams in the latest USTFCCCA National Team Computer Rankings are unchanged from a week ago. McMurry is the No. 1 men's team in the land while Wartburg's women set a new all-time rankings high this week with 366.60 ranking points. All-Region Awards for 2012 Division II Outdoor Track & Field Announced
NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has named All-Region honorees for outdoor track & field in Division II. The top five from each region in individual events and each member of a relay ranked in the region’s top three have earned the All-Region distinction for the 2012 outdoor season. A total of 1,274 athletes receive 1,854 USTFCCCA All-Region nods. The USTFCCCA regions match those used for NCAA Cross Country Championships. NEW ORLEANS -- After a two-week absence, the men of Saint Augustine's have reclaimed the No. 1 spot in the latest USTFCCCA National Team Computer Rankings for NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field. The women of Grand Valley State kept their top-ranked spot for the third-consecutive week. The regular season is over in DII and only the NCAA Championships remain -- May 24-26 in Pueblo, Colo. This week's rankings are compiled using the final descending order lists. Next week's rankings will be compiled using data only from those declared and accepted into the NCAA Championships. DI Rankings: Regular Season Done, Texas A&M and LSU are Latest No. 1s
NEW ORLEANS – The regular season is over and only the NCAA Championships are left for NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field. Preliminary rounds for the national championships will be held next weekend, May 24-26, and the final rounds will be held June 6-9 in Des Moines, Iowa. Using the full lot of data from the regular season — and, after many conference championships this past weekend — we have two new No. 1 teams.
