USTFCCCA Track and Field Academy

The USTFCCCA Track & Field Academy will be holding a number of programs prior to the start of the annual convention in Orlando.  Several of these programs will be offered for the first time.  The schedule is set up so that you may take multiple courses throughout the weekend. There is an additional fee for these programs.

 

Saturday, December 15 … 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Injury Management for the Track and Field Coach (Course # 406)

An advanced course covering various aspects of athletic injury

applicable to the coach. Topics include the anatomy of common injuries, study of various sports medicine fields, applicable rehabilitation procedures, and altering training in the event of injury.

 

Saturday, December 15 … 1:00 PM – 8:00 PM & Sunday, December 16 … 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Track and Field Technical Coaching  (Course #201)

A certification granting course covering training design and technical instruction in a variety of Track & Field event areas. Topics include training components, training design, technical instruction and teaching progressions.

 

Sunday, December 16 …. 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Sports Psychology for the Track and Field Coach. (Course #405)

A high level course covering key psychological principles and skills applicable to athletic performance. Topics include goal setting, anxiety management, and communication skills.

 

Monday, December 17 … 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Meet Management for the Track and Field Coach. (Course #404)

A course covering all aspects of meet management including facility use and preparation, timing, equipment, scheduling, and management of officials.

 

Monday, December 17 … 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Track and Field Program Management Certification. (Course #202)

A certification granting course covering all non-technical aspects of Track and Field coaching. Topics include ethics, roster management, budget, finance, equipment, academic

monitoring, entries, eligibility, meet management.
