USTFCCCA Welcomes Williams, Mayforth & Taylor to National Office Staff
NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) is pleased to announce the additions of Jared Williams, Tyler Mayforth and Kristina Taylor to the Association’s national office staff.
Williams joins the USTFCCCA as the Director of Administrative & Legislative Affairs, Mayforth comes to New Orleans as the Communications Assistant, and Taylor will take on the position of Membership Services & Operations Assistant.
“We’re excited to welcome Jared, Tyler and Kristina to the USTFCCCA national office,” USTFCCCA CEO Sam Seemes said. “All three are talented young professionals who will be able to step into our New Orleans office on day one and serve our membership and the overall sports of track & field and cross country in their own unique ways.”
In his new role, Williams will have administrative oversight of the USTFCCCA Board of Directors and the Executive Track & Field and Executive Cross Country committees for all three NCAA Divisions. He will also serve as the legislative liaison for USTFCCCA proposals for NCAA track & field and cross country, and will monitor NCAA activity pertaining to USTFCCCA matters.
Williams, who earned his Juris Doctor degree in 2013 from the College of Law at Loyola University New Orleans and completed his undergraduate degree in liberal arts (English) at Hampton in 2009, comes to the USTFCCCA after having served as the Compliance Services Coordinator for the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) during the past academic year. He also has experience with the Western Athletic Conference (WAC), the University of New Orleans and the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA).
Mayforth will join Director of Communications Kyle Terwillegar in continuing to expand the USTFCCCA’s coverage of collegiate track & field and cross country. In addition to writing press releases, previews, recaps and features, he will also take on an active role in producing an increased volume of engaging multimedia content.
Prior to joining the national office, Mayforth spent a year in Athens, Georgia, working with the Athens Banner-Herald after more than six years as a sports writer and eventually sports editor for the San Marcos Daily Record. He moved to Texas after earning his degree in English (with a concentration in journalism) at Delaware, where he was a three-year letterman on the cross country & track & field teams.
Taylor will join the department of Membership Services & Operations alongside Director Dave Svoboda. As a part of the Membership Services and Operations division she will facilitate membership support requests, coordinate association awards program, and process event registrations in the USTFCCCA membership database. Taylor will also play a large role in assisting with the coordination and execution of the yearly USTFCCCA Convention.
She comes to New Orleans after serving as the assistant sports information director at Florida International for nearly two years. Her resume also includes experience with the Orange Bowl, Loyola University New Orleans, and the University of Alabama – where she earned both her undergraduate degree in Broadcast News and her master’s in human performance with an emphasis on sport management.
Taylor will begin her role as part of the national office staff in September.
