Indiana Tech Men & Wayland Baptist Women win NAIA Titles

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – (Complete Results) The Wayland Baptist (Texas) women and the Indiana Tech men captured the 2016 NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships at the David E. Walker Track at Gentry Field in Johnson City, Tenn.

For the Wayland Baptist women, this is its sixth indoor championship but the first one for the Pioneers since 2009. Wayland Baptist won with 72 total points, with Doane (Neb.) taking second with 61.5 points. Indiana Tech (61 points) and Siena Heights (Mich.) (59.5 points) round out the top four.

The men’s championship is the third in a row for Indiana Tech, who tallied 105 points. The Warriors are the first team to three-peat since Azusa Pacific (Calif.) won four in a row from 2007-10. Wayland Baptist placed second with 77 points, while Concordia (Neb.) (58 points) and Siena Heights (47 points) took third and fourth.
