Iowa Association of Track Coaches Joins The USTFCCCA

NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) is pleased to announce the addition of the Iowa Association of Track Coaches to its growing roster of high school associations under its reach.

“We are looking forward to our coaches having access to so many resources that the USTFCCCA offers,” IATC First Vice President Tim O’Neill said. “Our coaches will have an incredible chance to network and be part of a membership that has so many opportunities for us to grow professionally in track & field and cross country.”

The IATC was founded in 1969 and was the brainchild of Bill Bergan, a legendary coach in the Iowa high school ranks. Bergan talked with those who created the neighboring Kansas Track Coaches Association and called upon fellow legend Fred Shadle for help in the Hawkeye State.
