CONVENTION UPDATE: Big Names Lined Up For Women In Coaching Panel
NEW ORLEANS – One of the fastest growing events at the annual USTFCCCA Convention is the “Women in Coaching Panel,” which enters its fourth year of existence.
Started in 2014, the “Women in Coaching Panel” is a program exclusively for the female coaches in attendance each December at the USTFCCCA Convention. Every female coach registered for the USTFCCCA Convention is invited to take part in the event.
Last year more than 150 female coaches listed to Image Builders, Inc. CEO Denita Turner opine on empowerment and projecting a positive image.
This year the event returns to a panel format. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from Duke’s Rhonda Riley, Miami (Fla.)’s Amy Deem, Southern California’s Caryl Smith Gilbert, Jacksonville University’s Bambi Brundage, Grand Canyon’s Sara Slattery and Wayne State’s Makiba Batten. Deem will be inducted into the USTFCCCA Coaches Hall of Fame the next night.
Like last year, the gathering will be held on Tuesday – the first official day of Convention. This year that date is December 12 and the panel will last from 3-5:30 pm inside Grand Canyon 1-5.
This event is designed to give attendees the opportunity to share perspectives and experiences relating to the challenges women face in the coaching profession.
There will be break-out sessions following the panel.
