The Bowerman: FAQ About Tonight’s Festivities

PHOENIX – The big day is finally here.

Six months and five days after the 2017 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships ended, we’re ready to crown our two winners of The Bowerman – collegiate track & field’s highest honor.

All six finalists (three men’s, three women’s) set collegiate records in 2017, the first time that happened in the history of The Bowerman, which dates back to 2009.

The men’s finalists for The Bowerman are Christian Coleman, Fred Kerley and Lindon Victor.

The women’s finalists are Maggie Ewen, Keturah Orji and Raevyn Rogers.

What is The Bowerman?

The Bowerman is collegiate track & field’s highest honor. Many liken it to the Heisman Trophy of collegiate track & field. It debuted in 2009 and since then, past winners have combined for 10 Olympic medals, 12 IAAF World Championships (indoor and outdoor) and 22 World Championship medals.
