CONVENTION UPDATE: Marquee Events Headline USTFCCCA Convention
NEW ORLEANS – Did you know that as part of registration for the annual USTFCCCA Convention, you are also invited to attend the USTFCCCA Coaches Hall of Fame Dinner and Induction Ceremony as well as various events surrounding The Bowerman Presentation?
This year the USTFCCCA Convention will be held from December 17-20 at the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa deep in the heart of Texas.
The USTFCCCA Coaches Hall of Fame Dinner and Induction Ceremony will be held Tuesday, December 17 from 7:30-10 pm inside the Grand Oaks Ballroom. You don’t want to miss it as six legendary coaches will be enshrined: Dr. Artis Davenport II, Karen Dennis, Ron Mann, Damon Martin, John McNichols and Dan Pfaff. All six of those coaches blazed incredible trails that will put them among the pantheon of all-time greats.
Just like it has the past two years, The Bowerman Presentation will officially close the USTFCCCA Convention on the evening of Thursday, December 20.
The Bowerman is collegiate track & field’s highest individual honor and is awarded to one male and one female winner each year. Christian Coleman and Raevyn Rogers took home The Bowerman in 2017. Past winners of The Bowerman also include two-time Olympic gold medalist and world record holder Ashton Eaton, two-time Olympic medalists Derek Drouin and Galen Rupp as well as 2016 Olympic gold medalist Brianna Rollins.
The men’s finalists for The Bowerman this year are Florida’s Grant Holloway and the Southern California duo of Rai Benjamin and Michael Norman.
The women’s finalists for The Bowerman this year are Arizona State’s Maggie Ewen, Kentucky’s Sydney McLaughlin and Georgia’s Keturah Orji.
