Remember: The 2019 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships will take place between May 26 and May 28 at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.

UW-Eau Claire extended its lead in the Men’s National Rating Index after a strong effort at the WIAC Championships this past weekend. The Blugolds added top-5 marks to the Index in the guise of Dylan Cooper, Kyler Lueck and the 4×400 relay team. Cooper posted a score of 7031 in the decathlon, while Lueck is now ranked No. 2 nationally in the 800 at 1:50.72.

UW-La Crosse climbed two spots from No. 4 to No. 2 between Week 5 and Week 6. The Eagles chipped in five top-10 marks into the Index this week, led by Andrew Jarrett’s No. 3 billing in the hammer. Charlie Handrick is now ranked fifth in the 400H, the 4×400 relay team is listed seventh and Samuel Sadowski (long jump) and Will Seeser (400H) are both ninth in their respective events.

UW-Platteville continues the upward trend of teams from Wisconsin. The Pioneers jumped four spots from No. 11 to No. 7 after taking advantage of some home cooking at the WIAC meet. Zach Lee and Cody Faust propelled UW-Platteville as Lee is now billed third and seventh in the 800 and 1500, respectively, while Faust is No. 5 in the TFRI Individual Rankings of the decathlon.

Here are some of the other big movers in the top-25 of the Men’s National Rating Index: No. 8 Washington (Mo.) (up six spots), No. 10 UW-Whitewater (up nine spots), No. 14 George Fox (up 16 spots), No. 18 Adrian (up eight spots), No. 20 UMass Dartmouth (up five spots), No. 21 UW-Stevens Point (up 41 spots) and No. 25 Bridgewater (Va.) (up nine spots).

The biggest movers outside of the top-25 were Berea (Ky.) and Trine. The former soared 87 spots from 156 to No. 69 this week, while the latter climbed 79 spots from No. 155 to No. 76.

The top-5 of the Women’s National Rating Index looks completely different than it did last week, which means teams are peaking at the right time.

George Fox remained No. 1, but behind it comes No. 2 Loras, No. 3 Williams, No. 4 Nebraska Wesleyan and No. 5 Washington (Mo.).

Bella Solis gave the Duhawks yet another top mark in the Index. Solis clocked a division-leading time of 1:00.38 in the 400H, which gives Loras four No. 1 marks now. You can’t forget about Gabrielle Noland, either, as she is now ranked No. 3 in the 400 to go along with No. 1 marks in the 100 and 200.

A true team effort has the Ephs at No. 3. While Emma Egan (high jump) is the only top-ranked athlete for Williams, the program has eight other marks listed in the top-10, including the most recent additions of the 4×400 relay team at No. 6 and Summer-Solstice Thomas at No. 9 in both the heptathlon and the high jump.

Two athletes helped the Bears find their way back into the top-5: Eka Jose and Heidi Nassos. Jose is now the top-ranked triple jumper in NCAA DIII, while Nassos improved her season best in the pole vault to 3.95m (12-11½) and is now ranked third nationally.

Here are some of the other big movers in the top-25 of the Women’s National Rating Index: No. 8 UW-Eau Claire (up 4 spots), No. 11 UW-La Crosse (up 17 spots), No. 14 Rowan (up 17 spots), No. 16 UW-Stevens Point (up 33 spots) and No. 22 Brockport (up 39 spots).

The biggest movers outside of the top-25 were Mary Washington, Shenandoah, Bates and MSOE, who all bettered their previous rating by 60 or more spots.
