USTFCCCA Welcomes Ellsworth, Willman To National Office Staff
NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) is pleased to announce the additions of Howard Willman and Lauren Ellsworth to the staff at the National Office.
Both Willman and Ellsworth will serve as Communications Assistants and will help foster the Association’s outreach efforts in various ways.
Willman joins the USTFCCCA with a wealth of knowledge at his disposal. His experience spans five decades following the sports of cross country and track & field on various levels, beginning as a stat compiler at the San Jose Mercury News and most recently as the Assistant Media Coordinator for the Prefontaine Classic, the only IAAF Diamond League meet in the United States.
Willman’s ties to the sport are deep. A 1983 charter member of the Federation of American Statisticians of Track (FAST), he served in various editorial capacities for the U.S. Annual for two decades and received its third annual Don H. Potts Award for statistical excellence in 1996 while working as track & field researcher for NBC during the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. He was Media Director for the 1992 U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials in New Orleans and was part of T&FN’s World Rankings panel from 1984-2000.
Ellsworth joins the USTFCCCA after serving as the Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing, Promotions and Ticketing at Northwood University in Midland, Michigan, for two years. Prior to that, she was a Sports Marketing and Promotions Intern/Sports Information Assistant at Ashland University in Ashland, Oho.
Ellsworth is an accomplished athlete, earning three USTFCCCA All-America honors in NCAA Division II Women’s Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field while competing at Shippensburg University and Ashland University. In her final season of collegiate competition, Ellsworth nabbed First-Team All-America honors in the 100 at the 2016 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
