The featured article in this edition is entitled, “Pole Vaulting: Mechanical Goals and Technical Strategies” by Boo Schexnayder, who is the track & field strength and conditioning coach at LSU. Schexnayder is responsible for the development of the curriculum and text for the Jumps Specialist Certification Course of the Track & Field Academy.

Other articles this quarter include “Mental Toughness: Psychologically Preparing For Competition” by Mike Dager and Dana Freeman and “Sprint Hurdles” by Mike Thorson. There is also a compilation entitled, “Injuries Happen. Now What?”

The cover athlete is Mondo Duplantis, who rewrote the collegiate record book in his one season at LSU. Duplantis broke both the collegiate indoor and outdoor records and became the first collegian to clear 6.00m (19-8¼).
