Nominations for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Individual & Team Awards will be accepted until Thursday, July 9 at 5 pm CT.

NCAA Division I

Division I Track & Field All-Academic Individuals

  • Minimum CUMULATIVE grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, certifiable by either NCAA Faculty Rep or NCAA Compliance Coordinator or Registrar’s Office. Institutions utilizing a different GPA scale must convert the GPA to a 4.0 scale using the standard conversion method [GPA/Scale x 4.0].
  • Must have completed at least two (2) semesters or three (3) quarters at the nominating institution.
  • Athletic criteria for the award:
    • For the indoor season: must have finished the season ranked in the top 96 in any championship individual event, or in the top 48 in any championship relay event, for the most recent indoor season, certifiable by their place on the NCAA Division I descending order lists on TFRRS for Indoor Track and Field (including performances achieved outside the qualifying window during the indoor season).

Division I Track & Field All-Academic Teams

  • The cumulative GPA (not 2018-19 academic year, not semester) for all student-athletes on the institution’s NCAA Squad List for Indoor and/or Outdoor Track and Field must be 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, certifiable by either NCAA Faculty Rep or NCAA Compliance Coordinator or Registrar’s Office. Institutions utilizing a different GPA scale must convert the GPA to a 4.0 scale using the standard conversion method [GPA/Scale x 4.0].
  • The cumulative GPA of all student-athletes on the institution’s NCAA Squad List for Indoor and/or Outdoor Track and Field must be computed by the following method:
  1. Total the cumulative number of semester hours or quarter hours earned for all student-athletes on the NCAA Squad List, including the most recent grading period;
  2. Total the cumulative number of quality points (GPA multiplied by the number of credit hours) earned by all student-athletes on the NCAA Squad List, including the most recent grading period;
  3. Divide the cumulative number of quality points earned by the cumulative number of semester or quarter hours earned.

NCAA Division II

Division II Track & Field All-Academic Individuals

  • Minimum CUMULATIVE grade point average of a 3.25 on a 4.0 scale through the end of the semester of competition. Institutions utilizing a different GPA scale must convert the GPA to a 4.0 scale using the standard conversion method [GPA/Scale x 4.0]. Data must be certifiable by the institution’s registrar.
  • Must have completed at least 24 semester hours/36 quarter hours through the end of the semester of competition at the institution.
  • Transfer students and/or graduate students are to include grades only grades earned at the current nominating institution.
  • The student-athlete must have achieved an automatic-or provisional qualifying mark (individual or relay event) for the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships.

Division II Track & Field All-Academic Teams

  • The cumulative GPA (not 2018-19 academic year, not semester) for all student-athletes on the institution’s NCAA Squad List for Indoor and/or Outdoor Track and Field must be 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, certifiable by the institution’s registrar. Institutions utilizing a different GPA scale must convert the GPA to a 4.0 scale using the standard conversion method [GPA/Scale x 4.0].
  • Transfer students and/or graduate students are to include only grades earned at the current nominating institution.
  • The cumulative GPA of all student-athletes on the institution’s NCAA Squad List for Indoor and/or Outdoor Track and Field must be computed by the following method:
  1. Total the cumulative number of semester hours or quarter hours earned for all student-athletes on the NCAA Squad List including the most recent grading period;
  2. Total the cumulative number of quality points (GPA multiplied by the number of credit hours) earned by all student-athletes including the most recent grading period;
  3. Divide the cumulative number of quality points earned by the cumulative number of semester or quarter hours earned.

NCAA Division III

Division III Track & Field All-Academic Individuals

  • Minimum CUMULATIVE grade point average of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale through the most recently completed grading period. Institutions utilizing a different GPA scale must convert the GPA to a 4.0 scale using the standard conversion method [GPA/Scale x 4.0]. Data must be certifiable by the institution’s registrar.
  • Graduate students must take all undergraduate plus graduate coursework into account.
  • Meet one of the following athletic criteria:
    1. Must have finished the indoor season among the top 50 individuals as listed on the descending order lists on TFRRS. In addition, any athletes not among the top 50, but who were accepted into the Indoor National Championship, are eligible
    2. Must have competed as a member of one of the top 35 relay teams as listed on the indoor descending order list on TFRRS. In addition, any athletes not among the top 35 relay teams, but who were accepted in the relay at the Indoor National Championship (alternates are excluded), are eligible. Finally, any competing relay team member on an expanded descending order list to include 35 institutions (1 relay team per institution) is eligible.

Division III Track & Field All-Academic Teams

  • Cumulative team GPA (not 2018-19 academic year, not semester) of all student-athletes who used a season of eligibility must be at least a 3.1 on a 4.0 scale through the most recent semester/quarter, computed by the following method:
  1. Total the cumulative number of semester hours or quarter hours earned for all student-athletes who used a season of eligibility, including the most recent grading period;
  2. Total the cumulative number of quality points (GPA multiplied by the number of credit hours) earned by all student-athletes who used a season of eligibility, including the most recent grading period;
  3. Divide the cumulative number of quality points earned by the cumulative number of semester or quarter hours earned.
  4. Institutions utilizing a different GPA scale than 4.0 then must convert the GPA to a 4.0 scale using the standard conversion method [GPA/Scale x 4.0]. Data must be certifiable by the institution’s registrar.
  • Graduate students must take all undergraduate plus graduate coursework into account.

NAIA

NAIA Track & Field All-Academic Individuals

  • CUMULATIVE GPA of 3.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, certifiable by either Faculty Rep or Compliance Coordinator or Registrar’s Office. Institutions utilizing a different GPA scale must convert the GPA to a 4.0 scale using the standard conversion method [GPA/Scale x 4.0].
  • Athletic criteria for the award can be met in the indoor season:
    • Athletes or relays must have achieved an “A” or “B” standard in a Championship event, certifiable by their place on the NAIA descending order lists on TFRRS for Indoor Track and Field.
  • Must have completed at least two (2) semesters or three (3) quarters at the certifying institution.

NAIA Track & Field All-Academic Teams

  • The cumulative GPA (not 2018-19 academic year, not semester) for all student-athletes on the institution’s eligibility certificate for Indoor and/or Outdoor Track and Field must be 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, certifiable by either Faculty Rep or Compliance Coordinator or Registrar’s Office.
  • The cumulative GPA of all student-athletes on the institution’s eligibility certificate for Indoor and/or Outdoor Track and Field must be computed by the following method:
  1. Total the cumulative number of semester hours or quarter hours earned for all student-athletes on the eligibility certificate including the most recent grading period;
  2. Total the cumulative number of quality points earned by all student-athletes, including the most recent grading period;
  3. Divide the cumulative number of quality points earned by the cumulative number of semester or quarter hours earned.
  4. Institutions utilizing a different GPA scale than 4.0 then must convert the GPA to a 4.0 scale using the standard conversion method [GPA/Scale x 4.0].
