John Carroll jumped two spots from No. 3 to No. 1 thanks to its efforts at the Sparky Adams Invitational this past weekend. Alex Phillip and Jamie Dailey starred in the 10,000 meters as they notched the No. 1 (29:30.12) and No. 3 (29:49.21) marks on the NCAA DIII Descending Order List, respectively. Those marks, coupled with a pair of national leads from Ian Pierson in the 1500 (3:53.05) and steeplechase (9:15.99) go a long way to helping their cause.
Lynchburg also improved two spots from No. 4 to No. 2. The Hornets received a chart-topping mark from Sam Llanez in the 800 (1:52.05) as well as the No. 2 billing in the 10,000 meters from Frank Csorba (29:37.97). Those are two of Lynchburg’s 10 national top-10 efforts.
Mount Union dropped from No. 2 to No. 3 to no fault of its own. The Purple Raiders added or improved three national top-10 marks this past weekend, including the No. 5 mark in the 200 from Tyler Gill (21.75w) and the No. 7 mark in the triple jump from Brody Coleman (14.33m/47-0¼).
UW-La Crosse soared five spots from No. 9 to No. 4. The Eagles are now proud owners of nine national top-10 marks, including two of the top-3 efforts over 200 meters: Troy DeBruin sits No. 2 at 21.51w; Seth Holden is ranked third at 21.55w. Tommy Knoche topped 4.88m (16-0) in the pole vault to earn a top-5 spot in that event.
