KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Here are the NAIA Men’s & Women’s Cross Country National Athletes of the Week, as released on Wednesday afternoon by the NAIA National Office.

Johnathan Bowen, Saint Mary (Kan.)

Johnathan Bowen had a solid outing at the Fort Hays State Tiger Open on Saturday, taking second place out of over 180 runners. His time of 23:53 broke the school record by more than 30 seconds, which was set in 2018. The Spires took fourth place overall out of 15 schools.

Women’s National Athlete of the Week

Lemi Wutz, Milligan (Tenn.)

Lemi Wutz posted another strong effort over the 5k distance this past weekend. Wutz, who already clocked marks of 17:17 and 17:08, ran 17:13 on a rainy tract at the Royals Challenge. She placed fourth overall in a field of 300 runners and helped the Buffs finish second in the team standings.
