

2022 NCAA DII Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Rating Index – Week 6
NEW ORLEANS – It’s finally May!
Here is the newest edition of the 2022 NCAA Division II Men’s Outdoor Track & Field National Rating Index released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Tuesday. Only marks from the current season are being used, which gives a comprehensive, objective look at which teams have stood out during the season.

There were no changes to the order of the top-3 teams, as West Texas A&M held down the top spot for a fourth-straight week, followed by No. 2 Grand Valley State and No. 3 Texas A&M-Commerce. The Buffs and Lakers did not pick up any new or improved national top-10 marks, while the Lions turned in four of their own. Delan Edwin recorded two himself, moving to No. 5 in the 100 (10.25) and No. 3 in the 200 (20.70). J.T Smith is now No. 5 in the 100 (No. 5, 10.25) and Moaz Ibrahim hit a season best in the discus (No. 2, 58.88m/189-11). This weekend’s conference championships will feature a matchup between the Buffs and the Lions at the LSC Championships, while the Lakers host the GLIAC Championships.
Adams State improved one spot to No. 4 after a strong showing at the Payton Jordan Invitational. The Grizzlies gained two improved national top-10 marks towards their ledger. Clement Duigou ran 8:29.05 in the steeplechase to better his national lead in the event and move to No. 2 in NCAA DII history. The second mark came from Awet Beraki in the 5000, who improved to No. 4 on the Descending Order List with his 13:38.73 clocking.
Pittsburg State fell one spot to No. 5 to no fault of its own. The top performance for the Gorillas came from Bryce Grahn, who turned in a season best 8:57.46 in the steeple to move into the top-15 nationally.
Here are the rest of the top-10 teams in Week 6: No. 6 Central Missouri (unchanged), No. 7 Colorado School of Mines (unchanged), No. 8 UC-Colorado Springs (up one spot), No. 9 CSU Pueblo (down one spot) and No. 10 Ashland (up two spots).The Eagles’ 4×100 relay clocked 39.65 for the third-best time this season and soared to No. 10 on the NCAA DII all-time chart.
