UTEP Invitational 2014 Saturday, April 12 MEET INFORMATION ￼Meet Format: The UTEP Springtime is open to collegiate teams and select unattached athletes. Each team is allowed a reasonable unlimited number of entries per event. Running Events – Placing will be determined in heats against time. Heats will be decided by seed time. Field Events – Nine advance to finals. Entry Procedure: Collegiate teams intending to compete, contact Leo Settle (email@example.com) ASAP to have your team added to Direct Athletics “Invited Team” list. All team entries and scratches can be submitted online via www.directathletics.com site. Entries/scratches deadline are Wednesday, March 19th, 2014 @ Noon, 12pm (Mountain Time). Entry Fee and Packet Pick-up: $250.00 entry fee per team (men and women are considered separate teams) $20.00 entry fee for individuals. Team and individual packets, including lane assignments, will be available at the track office by Friday afternoon. All fees must be paid in advance at packet / number pick-up. Unattached/Post-Collegiate Athletes: All unattached/post-collegiate athletes must email Leo Settle (firstname.lastname@example.org) about intent to compete before entry deadline. The entry fee is $20, performance marks and times will not be posted on results if somehow able to compete without paying the entry fee. Friday Pre-Meet (Shake-out) and Saturday Schedule: Friday Pre-meet (shake-out) ends at 7pm – Coaches, please make sure athletes following the same spike regulations. Spikes will be for sale: $20 for bag of 100 or $2 per 10 spikes. 12 Hurdle and 2 starting blocks will be available for pre-meet. The tied hurdles in sets are for Saturday competition only. Please view page 3 of this information packet for schedule of events. Facility and Spike Rules: Kidd Field track surface is ProTraxx (13mm). The use of 1⁄4” pyramid spikes [M-F brand, not UCS 7mm or needle tipped pyramid spikes] will be strictly enforced. Absolutely NO Christmas tree, blunt or Needle spikes allowed. Shoes that have permanent spikes that do not meet the requirements in type or length will not be allowed. Athletes will be required to provide their spikes for inspection to enter the facility, at the clerk’s area & at the jumping events. Approved spikes will be tagged. You may purchase spikes at spike tag table if you do not have spikes of the appropriate length & type. Javelin and High Jump are allowed 3/8” spikes.
