James Madison University, a Division I member of the NCAA and Colonial Athletic Association, is seeking a Head Women’s Track & Field Coach to work within a highly competitive program. This is a full-time position with a comprehensive benefits package. The Head Coach directs the Women’s Track & Field program; coaches, trains and motivates student-athletes in order to
achieve competitive success; organizes & schedules practices, facilities, meets, weight program, travel; develops and monitors the Women’s Track & Field budget; responsible for recruiting quality student-athletes who meet admission requirements and who have the potential to graduate; and will ensure compliance with NCAA, CAA and JMU regulations.
A bachelor’s degree is required and preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of 5 years collegiate track and field coaching experience, preferably at the Division I level. The candidate should have demonstrated experience coaching the throws. Experience in other areas is beneficial. The ability to guide and support James Madison University student-athletes in their quest for excellence-academically, athletically, and socially as they prepare for productive and meaningful lives is essential.
In addition, the ability to establish a good rapport and effective working relationships with student-athletes, parents, administrators, faculty, staff and the community; as well as proven administrative, organizational and recruiting skills are required.
