About the Jumps SCC
The Jumps Specialist Certification Course (SCC) is a detailed, 36 hour course that covers all issues in technical coaching of the jumping events. Certification by the USTFCCCA is granted for successfully completing the course and its evaluations. The course is illustrated with pertinent, animated take-home video created specifically for this course, to enhance clarity and understanding.
Topics include training theory, periodization of jump training, biomechanics of sprinting, jumping and the jumping events, training components, training design and administration, peripheral training concerns, technical models, and technical teaching in the long jump, triple jump, high jump, and pole vault.
The SCC is taught by highly respected coaches, who have proven themselves in the coaching field and have extensive experience in the teaching profession. The 2018 Staff includes Todd Lane of LSU and Boo Schexnayder of LSU.
Tuition for Specialist Certification Courses is $450 if paid prior to June 1, 2018. Tuition paid after June 1, 2018 is $500.
Registration is on a first come, first served basis and when classes are full, no additional registrations will be permitted. There are no prerequisite courses for this course, but two years of formal coaching experience is required. Registration will close June 15, 2018. Register here.
Room & Board Package
Attendees may purchase a room & board package that provides a convenient and affordable option for meals and housing. The cost of the package is $425.00. Housing will be in New Hall Residence Hall which is North Central’s newest residence hall (opened in 2015). It is close to athletic facilities, Kaufman dining hall, and downtown Naperville.
New Hall offers suite-style living. Each suite is quadruple-occupancy and has a private bedroom for each person and two bathrooms per suite. Click on the link above to see the floorplan. All linens are provided but you must provide your own toiletries.
Each suite is equipped with a kitchenette. The common areas of the building feature a large break-out meeting space, a public kitchen, and a central computer lab, in addition to individual floor lounges and laundry rooms.
Each suite will house four people. It is possible for you to request specific suitemate(s). If you don’t request specific suitemate(s), we will attempt to house you with people that are (a) in the same event group as you and (b) are relatively close in age. It will not be possible to mix genders in a suite unless all four people are acquainted with each other and agreeable to that arrangement. This policy applies to married couples as well.
