The five-day program, which began Sunday and will continue through Thursday, focuses on certifying coaches as specialists in their specific track & field disciplines including endurance; jumps; sprints, hurdles, and relays; throws; and combined events.
Each specialization features a five-day, 36-hour detailed program taught by such notable coaches as Boo Schexnayder, Vince Anderson (Texas A&M), Todd Lane (LSU), Phil Lundin (St. Olaf), Kebba Tolbert (Harvard), Carrie Lane (Nebraska), Al Schmidt (Mississippi State) and others. Each of these coaches are highly respected in the coaching community through their accomplishments and each has extensive experience in the teaching profession.
The Specialist Certification Course is the only program of its type that provides a true certification for successful completion of its event-specific curriculum. The certification is granted for completing coursework, submitting an assigned training development project, and completing an online examination prior to a designated, post-course deadline.
