Richardson Storms To Gold

Sha’Carri Richardson has arrived.

Richardson, who won The Bowerman in 2019 after a sensational year at LSU, won gold in the Women’s 100 Meters on Monday. She blitzed the straightaway to the tune of 10.65, which shattered the Championships record and made her the seventh-fastest woman in world history.

This was the first career global medal for Richardson.

Holloway Makes It Three In A Row

Call Grant Holloway Mr. Three-Peat.

Holloway, who won The Bowerman in 2019 after an incredible junior year at Florida, captured his third consecutive World Championship in the 110-meter hurdles on Monday. The second fastest man in world history clocked a season-best 12.96 to outclass a strong field by 0.11 seconds.

Holloway is the first male athlete to win three consecutive world titles in the 110-meter hurdles since Greg Foster in 1983, 1987 and 1991.

It’s Ms. Rogers’ Neighborhood

One throw is all it took for Camryn Rogers to win gold.

Rogers, who was a finalist for The Bowerman in 2022 after a record-breaking year at California, won the world title in the hammer throw at the World Athletic Championships on Thursday. The Canadian launched the implement 77.22m (253-4) in Round 1 to take the lead for good.

Air Mondo Takes Off Again

Mondo Duplantis is a two-time world champion.

Duplantis, who was a finalist for The Bowerman in 2019 after a record-breaking year at LSU, won the gold medal in the pole vault on Saturday. The Swedish native cleared 6.10m (20-0) to outclass a strong field.

Four Members Provide Golden Relay Legs

You can count on The Bowerman Family for a strong relay leg: Rai Benjamin, Christian Coleman, Fred Kerley and Sha’Carri Richardson all delivered to help Team USA to a trio of relay titles.

Benjamin, who was a finalist for The Bowerman in 2018, did his work in the 4×400 relay on Sunday, when he anchored Team USA to a winning, world-leading mark of 2:57.31.

Coleman, Kerley and Richardson all contributed to winning 4×100 relays. The former two, both members of The Bowerman Class of 2017 (Coleman won The Bowerman; Kerley was a finalist) ran the first two legs of the men’s relay; Richardson anchored the women to a Championships record of 41.03.

Mr. Jumps Soars To Silver

JuVaughn Harrison made his presence felt on Tuesday.

Harrison, who won The Bowerman in 2021 after a stellar year at LSU, earned the silver medal in the high jump. He was clean through 2.33m, equaled a world-leading 2.36m and then missed all three attempts at 2.38m, which is a bar that he and eventual champion Gianmarco Tamberi couldn’t clear.

Davis-Woodhall Finds The Podium

Tara Davis-Woodhall put herself in a great position after one attempt.

Ultimately, that’s all it took for the 2021 finalist to earn silver in the long jump.

Davis-Woodhall soared 6.91m in Round 1 to put herself into the lead. Only Ivana Vuleta of Serbia would outdistance her the rest of the competition at a world-leading 7.14m, relegating Davis-Woodhall to silver.

Benjamin Adds Another 400H Medal

Rai Benjamin captured his third global medal in the 400-meter hurdles on Thursday at the World Athletic Championships in Budapest.

Benjamin, who was a finalist for The Bowerman in 2018, earned bronze with his time of 47.56.

Mu Medals For Athing

Athing Mu is racking up medals in the 800 meters.

Mu, who won The Bowerman in 2021 after an otherworldly year at Texas A&M, earned bronze in the 800-meter final on Sunday. She finished in a season-best 1:56.61 and led through 700 meters.

Bronze For Harrison In 100H

Kendra Harrison has now earned a medal in the 100-meter hurdles in three of the past four global championships.

Harrison, who was a finalist for The Bowerman in 2015 after a sensational year at Kentucky, captured bronze on Thursday in Budapest. She stopped the clock at 12.46 to finish 0.03 seconds behind winner Danielle Williams of Jamaica.
