Grant Holloway Wins The Bowerman in 2019
ORLANDO, Fla. – Say less.
Grant Holloway is Mr. Bowerman in 2019.
The former Florida Gator won The Bowerman on Thursday night inside the Mediterranean Ballroom as the 2019 USTFCCCA Convention drew to a close. He topped a talented group of finalists that also included Mondo Duplantis and Divine Oduduru.
Holloway left little doubt that he was the most outstanding male athlete in collegiate track & field throughout the 2019 season.
When all was said and done, Holloway scored 42 combined points between the two NCAA Championships, won four NCAA titles (three individual, one relay) and smashed three collegiate records (two individual, one relay).
Those record runs were things of beauty.
Indoors, Holloway broke the American record and the collegiate record in the 60 Hurdles when he won the NCAA title in 7.35.
Outdoors, Holloway became the first collegian to go sub-13.00 in the 110 Hurdles as he reduced Renaldo Nehemiah’s legendary 40-year-old standard to dust. That came at the same meet where Holloway also carried the baton on the collegiate record-setting 4×100 relay.
