Applications Now Being Accepted for Academy Summer Specialist Certification Courses

USTFCCCA Track and Field Academy

Applications for the Event Specialist Certification Courses to be held at St. John’s University in New York on July 11-15 are now being accepted.

The first step in the application process is to complete the online application.  

The application is then evaluated and if selected for admission, the applicant is notified and allowed 10 days to complete online registration and submit payment for the course. Spaces are limited and admission is competitive. 

The following courses will be offered:

302. Sprint, Hurdle, and Relay Event Specialist Certification.  Prerequisites: 3 years formal coaching experience.  A detailed certification granting course that covers all issues in technical coaching of the sprint, hurdle and relay events. Topics include training theory, biomechanics of sprinting and hurdling, training components, design and administration, peripheral training concerns, training design, technical issues, and technical teaching in the sprint, hurdle and relay events.  (36 Hours)

303. Jumping Event Specialist Certification.  Prerequisites: 3 years formal coaching experience.  A detailed certification granting course that covers all issues in technical coaching of the jumping events. Topics include training theory, biomechanics of the jumping events, training components, design and administration, peripheral training concerns, training design, technical issues, and technical teaching in jumping events.   (36 Hours)

304. Throwing Event Specialist Certification.  Prerequisites: 3 years formal coaching experience.  A detailed certification granting course that covers all issues in technical coaching of the throwing events.  Topics include training theory, biomechanics of the throwing events, training components, design and administration, peripheral training concerns, technical issues, and technical teaching in the throwing events.  (36 Hours)

305. Endurance Event Specialist Certification.  Prerequisites: 3 years formal coaching experience.  A detailed certification granting course that covers all issues in technical coaching of the endurance events and cross country. Topics include training theory, biomechanics of the endurance events and running efficiency, training components, design and administration, peripheral training concerns, technical issues  and  teaching in the endurance events.  (36 Hours)
