New Officers Elected In NCAA DI & NCAA DII
ORLANDO, Fla. – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) is pleased to announce four new members to a pair of its Executive Committees, as both the NCAA Division I Track & Field and NCAA Division II Cross Country committees elected a new President and Vice President at the annual Convention that concluded Thursday.
NCAA Division I Track & Field
David Shoehalter of Yale was elected President and Ta’ Frias of James Madison was elected Vice President. Shoehalter, the past Vice President, replaces outgoing President Connie Price-Smith of Ole Miss, while Frias becomes Vice President after serving as the conference representative from the Colonial Athletic Association.
Shoehalter is in his 10th year as Mark. T. Young ‘68 Director of Cross Country and Track & Field at Yale. Frias is in her sixth year as the Director of Track & Field and Cross Country at James Madison.
NCAA Division II Cross Country
Torrey Olson of Cal State San Marcos was elevated to President after serving the last term as Vice President and two previous terms as 2nd Vice President. He replaces outgoing President Jim Vahrenkamp of Queens (N.C.). Chris Reed of Seattle Pacific moves into the position of Vice President after serving as the conference representative for the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.
Olson is in his second year as head cross country and track & field coach at Cal State San Marcos. Reed is in his seventh year as associate head coach of cross country at Seattle Pacific.
