… North Central College’s men and Middlebury’s women enter Saturday’s NCAA Championships as the undisputed top-ranked teams …
… No. 1 North Central will be looking for their 14th NCAA men’s team title and their second-straight … of the men’s top five, No. 2 Haverford, No. 3 SUNY Geneseo, and No. 5 St. Lawrence have not won a national D-III title … Haverford was runner-ups in 2007 … No. 4 Calvin is tied for the second-most D-III men’s team titles in NCAA history with four, all of which came in a span from 2000 to 2006.
… On the women’s side, No. 5 UW Eau Claire is the defending team champs, having won their first title in 2009 … No. 1 Middlebury, with five all-time national team titles, and all coming since 2000, is second in NCAA D-III history in team championships in cross country … No. 2 St. Lawrence and No. 4 Johns Hopkins has not won a national women’s team title in cross country … No. 3 Williams won national titles in 2002 and 2004.
