South Plains Men & Women Remain Atop NJCAA Division I
NEW ORLEANS – The NJCAA Division I computer team rankings stayed relatively stable after last week’s shakeup. South Plains‘s men and women remained at No. 1 in the rankings released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Wednesday.

In the men’s rankings, the top ten teams remained the same. No. 2 Central Arizona and No. 3 Iowa Central reprised their spots from a week ago, while teams Nos. 4 through 8 all changed spots.
Those teams are, in order, Iowa Western, Coffeyville, Barton County, Mesa, and Western Texas, with everyone but Barton moving up. No. 9 Cloud County stayed at the same ranking, while No. 10 Monroe moved down three slots.
Two men’s teams joined the top 25: No. 24 Arkansas Baptist and No. 25 Garden City. The biggest climbers in the men’s rankings were the No. 17 Allen County Red Devils, up six rungs.
The women’s rankings were even more placid: No. 2 Iowa Central, No. 3 Central Arizona, No. 4 New Mexico, No. 5 Coffeyville stayed in the same slots, as did Nos. 8 and 9 North Iowa Area and Western Texas.
Nos. 6 and 7 Iowa Western and Barton County switched spots, and No. 10 Vincennes was the only team to join the top ten.
No. 21 Hutchinson was the last team out of the rankings at No. 26 last week, and was the only team to join the top 25 this week.
Two teams took over as regional number ones: the Iowa Western men in the Midwest and the women of Vincennes in the Atlantic.
The NJCAA Division I rankings will be released on Wednesdays between now and outdoor nationals.
