NAIA Rankings Home

That means the regular season in NAIA Indoor Track & Field recently ended.

One look at the most recent National Team Computer Rankings, released Wednesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), shows that the Indiana Tech men and women closed the non-championship portion as the top teams of their respective genders. The Warrior men maintained a massive lead over Doane (Neb.) at 207.35 points (465.91 to 258.56), while the women’s edge dwindled once again (383.20 to 345.63).

QUICK LINKS: Men’s Rankings | Women’s Rankings

Points in the National Team Computer Rankings are based on placement in the descending order lists. The higher an athlete is on the list, the more points he or she provides his or her team. These points are by no means an absolute predictor of success at the championship level, but give an idea of how a team might fare.

Behind Indiana Tech in the men’s rankings, things shifted a bit. Concordia (Neb.) and Siena Heights (Mich.) swapped spots (No. 4 and No. 5) from the past week, Oklahoma City moed up three spots from No. 9 to No. 6, while Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) and Cardinal Stritch (Wis.) are new to the top-10.

The biggest movers in the men’s rankings were William Carey (Miss.) and Westmont (Calif.). The former jumped 22 spots from No. 35 to No. 13 and the latter joined the top-25 after soaring nine spots from the previous week (No. 34 to No. 25).

Over in the women’s rankings, the top-5 held steady. There were minor changes in the next three spots, where Carroll (Mont.) and Aquinas (Mich.) both jumped previous-No. 6 Southern-New Orleans.

Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) climbed three spots from No. 13 to No. 10 and Hastings (Neb.) went from No. 17 to No. 14.

There were two teams in the women’s rankings that ascended more than 10 spots — Oklahoma City (No. 33 to No. 22) and Mobile (Ala.), which is now 24th compared to 38th last week.

All of these teams will hope to have athletes in contention at the national championship meet from March 3-5 in Johnson City, Tennessee. We’ll find out who made the cut on Friday, February 26 and then our pre-championship rankings — using only those entries — will come out Monday, February 29.
