First NJCAA DIII National Team Rankings Announced
NEW ORLEANS – The Rowan-Gloucester CC men and the Suffolk County CC women are the early-season clubhouse leaders for the NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field team titles, according to the year’s first edition of the National Team Computer Rankings.

The rankings, announced Wednesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), show the Rowan-Gloucester men (681.50 points) in a relatively tight race with No. 2 Howard CC (603.94) and No. 3 Suffolk County CC (598.55).
The Suffolk women have been the team to beat in the early goings of 2016, checking in with 625.98 points to defending national champion No. 2 Mohawk Valley CC’s 463.60. Not far behind MVCC are No. 3 Rowan-Gloucester CC (452.84), No. 4 Howard CC (423.92) and No. 5 Harper (422.54).
It’s important to note that these rankings are only a reflection of how teams have performed thus far in the very young outdoor campaign.
Notably, last year’s men’s champion SUNY Delhi has begun its transition into the NAIA.
The National Team Computer Rankings are complied by a mathematical formula based on national descending order lists. The purpose and methodology of the rankings is to create an index that showcases the teams that have the best potential of achieving the top spots in the national team race. Rankings points do not equate with NAIA Championships team points.
