Harper Continues to Lead NJCAA DIII National Rankings
NEW ORLEANS – Harper College continues to lead the pack in the second edition of the NJCAA Division III National Coaches’ Rankings, but other teams are moving up the charts.
The Hawks retained their No. 1 rank in both the men’s and women’s rankings announced Wednesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches’ Association (USTFCCCA), followed once again by the No. 2 Howard CC men and No. 2 Columbus State CC women.
A good weekend by Bergen CC propelled its men from No. 5 to No. 3, and its women from outside the top 10 to No. 3. The Bulldog men and women were both third among non-Division I teams at the Iona Br. Doyle Meet of Champions.
Rounding out the men’s top five were No. 4 Joliet CC (down one spot from last week) and No. 5 Columbus State CC (up three spots).
Completing the women’s top five were No. 4 Mercer County CC and No. 5 Joliet CC, both of which were displaced one spot each by Bergen’s rise.
Joining the Bergen CC women as newcomers to the rankings were the No. 8 Queensborough CC women and the No. 9 men of Onandaga CC.
