NEW ORLEANS — With just 4 weekends between now and the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon, the top of the NCAA Division I Women’s Team Rankings – as released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Monday – could not be much closer.

Texas A&M held onto the top spot for the 3rd-consecutive week, but Oregon gained ground in terms of points this week after a weekend off by the Aggies as the Ducks are a meager 3.41 points behind the lead.

A pair of Ducks gave Oregon the boost it needed to creep ever so closer to the Aggies, as Katie Rainsberger and Jessica Hull posted top-10 descending order list marks in the 1500 meters at the Oregon Twilight last week. Rainsberger recorded the 4th-fastest time in the nation this year with a time of 4:11.53, while Hull’s finish of 4:13.48 sits 10th on the list.

Other than Oregon, it was a relatively quiet week with conference championships on the horizon. Despite this fact, there was still other movement in the top-10 on the week.

Making a charge of its own was Southern California, who moved from 5th to 3rd this week, bumping LSU and Arkansas down to 4th and 5th, respectively. The Trojans saw a boost in the rankings after seeing Lyndsey Lopes take 3rd in the heptathlon at the Pac-12 Multi-Events Championships.

The Tigers took the week off, while the Razorbacks hosted their own Twilight meet that saw a handful of solid performances. Twin pole vaulters Tori and Lexi Weeks posted matching pole vault marks of 4.55m (14-11), good for 2nd on the descending order list.

Georgia also rose in the rankings, moving up 2 spots to 7th after Keturah Orji’s outdoor debut in which she notched the 2nd-best triple jump mark in outdoor collegiate history (14.31m/46-11½) at the Torrin Lawrence Memorial. Orji also added the nation’s 6th-best long mark on the year at 6.61m (21-8¼).

Rounding out the top-10 was Kentucky (6th), Florida (8th), Texas (9th) and Alabama (10th).

Seven teams from 11-25 rose in the rankings from a week ago, with Tennessee (22nd) making the biggest jump, as the Vols climbed 3 spots. South Carolina (25th) rejoined the top-25 after slipping out of the rankings a week ago.

You’ll see many of the athletes and teams listed here – and more – at the 2017 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships from June 7-10 at Historic Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. If you can’t watch NCAAs in person, make sure to follow along with them across the ESPN family of networks starting June 7 at 3:30 pm ET on ESPN3 and throughout the weekend, culminating in the final day (June 10) showing in prime time at 6:30 pm ET on ESPN.
