NCAA DI Outdoor Championships: Where Did They Come From?
The NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships are becoming an increasingly global event year in and year out.
This year is no different.

Athletes from 56 countries will compete for collegiate glory when the meet gets underway Wednesday, June 6 at Historic Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.
Jamaica is home to the most foreign-born NCAA-qualified athletes. Twenty-nine Jamaicans will attempt to win individual titles, of which 14 are from Kingston.
Great Britain will be represented by 21 athletes, which is the second most among foreign lands. If you parse out the countries that comprise Great Britain, 17 are from England, two are from Scotland and two hail from Wales.
Canada sits third on the international list with 19 athletes, followed by Kenya (14) and Australia (10) as the only others with double digits.
From a domestic point of view, 627 Americans are hoping to end their collegiate seasons with a bang.
The state with the most native athletes in Eugene, Oregon, this week is Texas with 66. California is a close second with 60, followed by Florida with 43. Illinois (30), Georgia (29), Virginia (27) and Ohio (27) are the other states with more than 25 native athletes competing.
