NAIA OTF National Athletes of the Week (April 21)
The NAIA National Office announced its National Athlete of the Week selections for outdoor track & field on Wednesday.
Matthew Van Eps of Dordt (Iowa) was named the Men’s Track Athlete of the Week after winning the 800 and anchoring the first-place 4×400 relay at the Sioux Falls Relay. Van Eps clocked a time of 1:50.3 in the 800 and led off the relay squad that finished in 3:16.08.
Jacob Keitkamp of Doane (Neb.) was named the Men’s Field Athlete of the Week after winning the high jump at the Jim Dutcher Memorial Classic in 2.15m (7-0½). Keitkamp also recorded a new PR in the javelin of 58.45m (191-9).
Arianna Daniel of Southern Oregon was named the Women’s Track Athlete of the Week after establishing a new national-leading time in the 400 of 55.62 at the Lane Titan Invitational. She also competed in the 4×100 relay and helped that squad place first.
Lauren Tamayo of Hastings (Neb.) was named the Women’s Field Athlete of the Week after setting a personal best in the heptathlon with 4825 points at the Jim Dutcher Memorial Classic. Tamayo is currently ranked second in the NAIA this season.
