NAIA XC National Athletes of the Week (September 15)
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Here are the NAIA Men’s & Women’s Cross Country National Athletes of the Week, as released on Wednesday afternoon by the NAIA National Office.
Men’s Athlete of the Week
Daniel Gerber, Taylor
In his first race of the 2021 season, Daniel Gerber won the individual title at the IWU Twilight Invite. Gerber finished with a massive kick and won by 0.10-seconds. The senior set a career-best time of 24:38.9 and logged the fifth-fastest time in Taylor program history.
Women’s National Athlete of the Week
Shelby Christman, Huntington (Ind.)
In her 5k collegiate debut, Shelby Christman won the IWU Twilight Invitational – finishing 15 seconds ahead of the 2nd place finisher.
