KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Here are the NAIA Men’s & Women’s Outdoor Track & Field National Athletes of the Week, as released on Wednesday afternoon by the NAIA National Office.

Men’s Track Athlete of the Week

Daunte O’Banion, Indiana Tech

O’Banion ran the first legs of the relays that rank first (4×400, 3:11.50) and third (4×100, 41.03) on the Descending Order List. He also clocked the top time in the nation in the 400 meters (46.16).

Men’s Field Athlete of the Week

Taylor Bottomley, Central Methodist (Mo.)

Bottomley finished first in both the discus and hammer throw, and fourth in shot put at the Margaret Simmons Invitational.

Women’s Track Athlete of the Week

Joy Abu, William Carey (Miss.)

Abu is ranked first nationally in three different individual events: 400 (54.97), 100H (13.60), 400H (57.78).

Women’s Field Athlete of the Week

Nevagant Jones, William Carey (Miss.)

Jones leads the nation in the triple jump with a mark of 12.45m (40-10¼).
