Collegiate Record: Rogers Hammers Out Another

There is Camryn Rogers.

And there is everybody else.

The Cal standout demolished her own collegiate record in the hammer throw with a Round 1 heave of 76.46m (250-10) at the NCAA Division I West Preliminary Round in Fayetteville, Arkansas on Thursday afternoon. Not only that, but Rogers also set a Canadian record, too.

Rogers now holds each of the top-5 performances in collegiate history: her new all-time best of 76.46m (250-10); her old collegiate standard of 75.73m (248-6); and then Nos. 3-5 at 75.52m (247-9), 74.97m (246-0) and 74.80m (245-5), respectively.

Maggie Ewen, the former collegiate record-holder and two-time finalist for The Bowerman, sits second behind Rogers at 74.53m (244-6). Ewen broke Jenny Dahlgren’s record by more than five feet and now, Rogers has put more than six feet between herself and Ewen.
