Addy Wiley Clocks All-Time 800-Meter Mark

Addy Wiley keeps getting faster.

Wiley, who competed at Huntington (Ind.) during the 2023 collegiate track & field year, ran 1:57.64 over 800 meters at the Continental Tour Bellinzona. That moved Wiley up to No. 2 on the all-time, all-dates collegiate chart behind 2021 The Bowerman winner Athing Mu at 1:55.04 (Mu clocked that mark at the Prefontaine Classic in August 2021).

Mu has four of the top-5 fastest marks on the chart at No. 1, No. 2 (1:55.21), No. 3 (1:56.07) and No. 5 (1:57.73) with that last effort behind her in-season collegiate record. Remember that the all-time, all-dates chart includes any mark registered by a collegian through the end of the global track & field season.

This has been quite the summer for Wiley. Back in June, Wiley cracked the all-time, all-dates top-5 in the 1500 meters at 4:03.22. Since that happened during the collegiate season, it officially counts for our record book, which has Wiley at No. 2 behind 2009 The Bowerman winner Jenny Simpson.
