From The USTFCCCA InfoZone: National Championships Central
Pittsburg State swept the team titles, which means the trophies don’t have to travel too far – just about 2.5 hours away. It was the Gorillas’s third consecutive men’s team title, while the women nabbed their first since 2016 and put up the most points by a winning team since 2005.

Men’s Recap
Pittsburg State had been there before – and competed like it. The Gorillas put forth a workmanlike effort in Emporia, Kansas. Pittsburg State scored points in ten different events, including event titles in 110-meter hurdles (Daylin Williams, 13.52), 200 meters (Dapriest Hogans, 20.38), triple jump (Tre Betts, 15.99m), and the decathlon (Hunter Jones, 7898 points).
West Texas A&M kept pace with four event titles of their own. The Buffs split their titles between the sprints (100, 4×100 relay) and endurance events (1500 and 10,000). Isaac Botsio was a key cog in West Texas A&M’s machine, as he won the 100 and toted the baton on the 4×100 relay. Aziz Mohamed was a closer winner in the 1500, while William Amponsah ran away with the 10,000-meter crown.
Harding, Missouri Southern and Grand Valley State followed in third, fourth and fifth place, respectively.
Women’s Recap
Field event athletes were expected to lead Pittsburg State – and that’s exactly what they did. The Gorillas scored 74 combined points in the heptathlon, jumps and throws, including ten or more in five of those events: triple jump (18), pole vault (14), high jump (12), heptathlon (11) and javelin throw (10). Auna Childress and Taylor Nelloms went 1-2 in the triple jump, while Olivia Vanderweide topped the podium in the javelin throw.
Adams State was its usual dominant self in the distance events. The Grizzlies asserted themselves on the second day of the meet with a 1-2 finish in the steeplechase by Gracie Hyde (9:36.95 MR) and Ava O’Connor (10:08.07). Hyde wasn’t done, though, as she also won the 1500-meter crown on Saturday. All told, Adams State amassed all but four of its points from the 800 meters up (Victoria Amiadamen finished fourth in the 400-meter hurdles).
Azusa Pacific, Grand Valley State and Minnesota State finished third, fourth and fifth, respectively.
