By The Numbers: 2024 NCAA DI Cross Country Championships

The 2024 NCAA DI Cross Country Championships are on Saturday.

Men’s and women’s national titles will be respectively decided over the 10k and 6k tracts at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course in Madison, Wisconsin.

Don’t forget that you can watch the action LIVE and UNINTERRUPTED on ESPNU beginning at 9:30 am ET. This will be the fifth year in a row that the meet has been on live TV.

Let’s take a closer look at the fields that will be assembled in the Badger State.

  • Athletes from 91 unique institutions will compete between the two races
  • Athletes hailing from 33 countries are listed among possible entrants: the U.S. leads the way with 541 total athletes, followed by Kenya with 58, Great Britain with 33, Australia with 24, Canada with 18 and Ireland rounds out the countries with double-digit entrants at 11
  • Athletes hailing from 47 of 50 U.S. states, including the District of Columbia, are listed among possible entrants: California has the most with 43, followed by Texas with 36, Colorado with 33 and Michigan with 32
  • All told, 54 returning cross country All-Americans from any season are on the entry list, including 21 men and 16 women who finished among the top-40 athletes last year in Charlottesville, Virginia
