Collegiate Distance Records Under Siege In Boston
Sound the alarm.
The collegiate record book is about to be set upon with the start of the 2024-2025 indoor track & field season – most notably in the distance events.

That’s because the Boston University Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener will be held on Saturday inside the BU Track & Tennis Center.
The first week of December is notorious for quick times in both the 3000 meters and 5000 meters as top athletes use their residual fitness from the recently completed cross country season. Six of the top-10 performances in the men’s 5000 meters were clocked at this meet over the years, as have four in the women’s 5k, plus three each in the men’s and women’s 3k.
