Men’s Recap

Marian (Ind.) won its first-ever NAIA men’s indoor track & field team title, scoring 74 points to top No. 1 and defending champ Cumberlands (Ky.), which had 64 points.

The Knights were led by Christian Rios, their lone individual champion in taking the weight throw with an effort of 20.34m (66-8¾).

Five meet records were set, including two all-time NAIA indoor records.

Daniel Williams of Life (Ga.) obliterated the 200-meter record with his 20.48 victory, and the Milligan (Tenn.) 4×800 relay team not only set an NAIA record, but their time of 7:29.31 is the fastest ever indoors by an NAIA foursome, even including those on oversized tracks.

Three of the other meet records rate very high on the all-time NAIA lists.

Barnabas Aggerh of William Carey (Miss.) won the 60 meters in 6.53, just shy of the NAIA record 6.52 he set earlier this season.

Payton Mauldin of Dordt (Iowa) clocked 1:16.11 to defend his 600-meter title and move to No. 2 all-time.

Bryn Woodall of Milligan (Tenn.) won the mile title by over five seconds, and his time of 4:01.74 makes him No. 3 all-time on the NAIA indoor list.

Women’s Recap

Cumberlands (Ky.) became the first back-to-back team winner since 2017, tallying 58 points to better Doane (Neb.) by 10 points.

The Patriots won the team crown without a single event winner but had three runner-up finishes and a pair in third place.

Four NAIA records were set.

Two of those were set by freshman Brianna Campbell of Life (Ga.) with her double in the 60-meter hurdles and 200. In the former, she clocked 8.09, lowering her own NAIA record by 0.09 seconds. In the deuce she won in 23.59, shaving 0.01 seconds off the NAIA record of 23.60.

Hannah Antkoviak of Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) defended her 600-meter title in major fashion as her time of 1:26.98 smashed the all-time NAIA best by over two seconds. She won her race by more than five seconds.

The fourth record came in the distance medley relay by The Master’s (Calif.), which ran 11:38.18 to break the previous best by nearly 10 seconds.
