Athletes from 44 countries will compete for 17 event titles per gender over the next few days at the Virginia Beach Sports Complex in Virginia Beach, Virginia. No country will be more represented than the United States with 281 athletes. Jamaica is second with 25, followed by Canada and Kenya, which are both tied with 15. Great Britain has 13, while Nigeria rounds out countries with double-digit athletes with 11.
Zoom in a bit further and the hometown with the most representation in Virginia Beach will be Kingston, Jamaica, with 11 athletes. Houston is next up with six, followed by Eldoret, Kenya (five), St. Thomas, Jamaica (four) and a host of others with three each.
Finally, let’s put the focus on the United States. Athletes from 44 states are in Virginia Beach for the climactic meet of the 2025 indoor season, led by Texas with 43. In fact, the next two states combined – California (23) and Florida (17) – don’t give them as many as Texas. Three other states have double-digit athletes with Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Washington not too far behind.
The 2025 NCAA DI Indoor Track & Field Championships get underway on Friday with the combined events and will wrap up on Saturday evening with the 4×400 relays.
