CONVENTION UPDATE: High School Seminars In 2025
NEW ORLEANS – There is something for everybody at the annual USTFCCCA Convention.
Head coaches, assistant coaches, director of operations, and high school coaches all have opportunities to soak up knowledge year in and year out every December.
Speaking of those high school coaches coming to the 2025 USTFCCCA Convention from Monday, December 15 to Thursday, December 18, at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas, there will numerous seminars just for them in the Lone Star State.

Notably, several of our National High School Coaches of the Year will share their expertise with colleagues during the convention. Frankie Ruiz of Belen Jesuit (Fla.) and June Villers of Waxahachie (Texas) are slated for Tuesday, while Alisa Seymour of Collierville (Tenn.) and Richard Anderson of Vestavia Hills (Ala.) will present on Wednesday. Ruiz, the National Boys Cross Country Coach of the Year, will lead a session titled “Cross Country – 5k Training Philosophy.” Seymour and Anderson, the National Track & Field Coaches of the Year, will follow with “Developing the Combined Event Athlete: Training Strategies for Success” and “Training the Whole Program: Macro-Philosophy, Competition Mindset & Development in a Large High School Setting,” respectively.
Other seminars include “Coaching Combination Throwers at the High School Level” by Alabama’s Derek Yush and “Dealing With Limitations – Facilities, Weather, Short Preseasons” by Boo Schexnayder, among others.
