T&F Collegians Shine At NACAC U23 Championships

NEW ORLEANS — Dominant doesn’t begin to describe how collegians were at the NACAC U23 Championships this past weekend in San Salvador, El Salvador.

Collegians from the 2015-16 academic year placed first in 27 different individual events and combined for victories in four relays (men’s and women’s 4×100 and 4×400).

Then how about this stat: Eight different collegians — all women — broke meet records. Those athletes that established new standards were Chelsea Blaase (10000 Meters), Quanesha Burks (Long Jump), Jasmine Camacho-Quinn (100 Hurdles), Megan Clark (Pole Vault), Chrisann Gordon (400 Meters), Akela Jones (High Jump), Raven Saunders (Shot Put) and Shelbi Vaughan (Discus Throw).

Several marks cracked the all-dates collegiate list from 2016, like Camacho-Quinn’s 12.78 in the 100 hurdles (No. 3), Jones’ high jump of 1.91m (No. 5) as well as Khallifah Rosser‘s time of 49.25 in the 400 hurdles (No. 7) and Curtis Thompson‘s javelin heave of 79.28m (No. 6).
