Top Teams Hold Steady in Latest NJCAA DIII National Rankings
NEW ORLEANS – With just over three weeks left until NJCAA Division III Cross Country teams clash at their national championships, the top group of contenders has solidified.
Headlined by the No. 1 men and women of Harper College, each of the top-five teams for both genders held steady in the latest National Rankings announced Wednesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
The NJCAA Division III Championships will be held November 12 in Canadaigua, New York.
The Hawks men continued to lead the rankings over No. 2 Howard CC (Md.), No. 3 Suffolk County CC, No. 4 Rowan-Gloucester CC and No. 5 Bergen CC.
Harper’s women, led by multiple-time National Athlete of the Week Ali Gutt, held their advantage over No. 2 Columbus State CC, No. 3 Bergen CC, No. 4 Rowan-Gloucester CC, and No. 5 Camden County.
Making a big jump from unranked to No. 6 in the men’s poll was CCRI.
Joining the women’s top-10 from the unranked category was No. 10 Ocean County.
