2020 NAIA Women’s Indoor Track & Field Rating Index – Week 5
NEW ORLEANS – Eight of the top-10 teams in the most recent NAIA Women’s Indoor Track & Field National Rating Index shifted spots since Week 4, which means the heart of the postseason is upon us.
If you can believe it, the 2020 NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held in two weeks from March 5-7 in Brookings, South Dakota.

Don’t look now, but Indiana Tech has company at the top of the National Rating Index. While the Warriors are projected to win the national title, William Carey (Miss.) made the second largest jump in the top-10 from No. 5 to No. 2 after a strong weekend.
It was at the Carey Qualifier, where the Crusaders took advantage of some home cooking. William Carey notched the nation’s fastest 4×400 relay time of a converted 3:50.47, which is more than three seconds ahead of Indiana Tech’s No. 2 mark. The Crusaders also received a top-5 mark from Fredericka McKenzie in the 60, as she is now ranked fifth nationally.
William Carey (Miss.)’s surge caused former No. 2 Concordia (Neb.), former No. 3 Huntington (Ind.) and former No. 4 Wayland Baptist (Texas) to all drop one spot.
The team that made the biggest jump in the top-10 this week is St. Francis (Ill.). The Fighting Saints barked up the right tree this past weekend as they went from No. 10 to No. 6. St. Francis (Ill.) owns 14 automatic qualifying marks, including eight that were either bettered or added to the Descending Order List at the Chicagoland Collegiate Indoor Track & Field Championships. Three of those eight marks came in the 1000 as the Saints received gutsy running from Sabrina Baftiri (No. 4), Taylor Conroy (No. 6) and Eva Bruno (No. 8).
