Chris Parno was named the National Women’s Assistant Coach of the Year for the 2022 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field season. Parno, in his 10th year as associate head coach at Minnesota State, coached the Mavericks sprint/hurdle group to score 38 of the team’s 57 points in finishing third at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships. His athletes won three events at the NCAA meet – 100 meters, 100-meter hurdles and 4×100 relay – and accumulated eight First-Team All-America honors. At the NSIC Outdoor Championships, his athletes scored 89 points and set conference records in three events.
