Fiona Smith was named the 2023 NCAA Division III Women’s Indoor Track & Field National Scholar Track Athlete of the Year. Smith, who maintained a cumulative GPA of 4.0, swept the distance titles at the 2023 NCAA DIII Indoor Track & Field Championships with victories in both the 3000 meters and 5000 meters. This is the first time in program history that a female athlete from Saint Benedict has been named National Scholar Athlete of the Year in track & field.
