High Point Scorers From 2024 NCAA DII Indoor T&F Championships
NEW ORLEANS – High Point Athletes of the Meet from the 2024 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships were announced on Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Miguel Coca of Adams State earned honors on the men’s side and Denisha Cartwright of Minnesota State took home the women’s award based on performances this past weekend in Pittsburg, Kansas.
Coca’s 18.5 points propelled the Grizzlies to their second consecutive runner-up finish at the NCAA Championships. He finished a strong runner-up in both the mile and 3000 meters and ran a leg on the title-winning distance medley relay. Want to know how close Coca was to 22.5 points? Cartwright was a key cog in the Mavericks finishing third in the team standings, scoring 24.25 points. She opened the final day of the NCAA Championships with a victory in the 60-meter hurdles, leading a 1-2-3 finish of Minnesota State athletes, followed that up with a runner-up finish in the 60 meters not 10 minutes later and then took fourth in the 200 meters. Finally, Cartwright anchored the Mavericks to a fourth-place finish in the meet-ending 4×400 relay.
