Athletes from 54 countries will compete for 21 event titles per gender over the next few days at Hayward Field. No country will be more represented than the United States with 543 athletes. Jamaica is second with 49, followed by Great Britain with 30. Kenya sits outside of the top-3 with 25 athletes, while Nigeria (18), Australia (16), Canada (16), South Africa (12) and Germany (10) all have more than ten.

Zoom in a bit further and the hometown with the most representation in Oregon will be Kingston, Jamaica, with 15 athletes. Houston is next up with 11, followed by Eldoret, Kenya, with nine and both Dallas, Texas, and London, England with six.

Finally, let’s put the focus on the United States. Athletes from 47 states are in Track Town, USA for the climactic meet of the 2024 outdoor season, led by Texas with 64. In fact, the next two states combined – California (33) and Florida (31) – give them as much as Texas.

Competition at Hayward Field starts tomorrow and goes through Saturday.
