Caleb Dean was named the 2024 NCAA Division I Men’s Outdoor Track & Field National Track Athlete of the Year. Dean, who hails from Hyattsville, Maryland, won the 400-meter hurdle title at the 2024 NCAA DI Outdoor Track & Field Championships in 47.23, which is the second fastest mark in collegiate history. Earlier in the season, Dean clocked two identical 48.05 marks, which added to the 47.23 he ran at the NCAA Championships, made him the only athlete in collegiate history with three 48.05 or faster efforts in a single season.
