Ana Couto of Barton (Kan.) CC was named the 2024 NJCAA Division I Women’s Outdoor Track & Field National Scholar Field Athlete of the Year. Couto, who maintained a term GPA of 4.0, won the heptathlon at the 2024 NJCAA DI Outdoor Track & Field Championships. This is the first time in program history that an athlete from Barton has been named National Scholar Athlete of the Year in outdoor track & field. Couto has now won two National Scholar Athlete of the Year awards including last year indoors.
